I believe this little frog dates to the late 19th century

making them feel more aligned with Scherenschnitte (finely cut paper silhouettes)

it's certainly it's own special folk art thing

I've become more and more drawn to antique miniature portraits

and just some fraying around the edges of the pages

No end of possibilities. In its black against white capital lettered spareness and declarativeness, it makes me think of I Am A Man
