I am not entirely certain of the wood; it may be cherry, or maple. It features three beautiful concentric ribbed bands around both top and bottom, another around the lip of the lid, and one more equidistant up from the bottom. And then a hole at the center of the lid for pulling through the string that it would have held inside. The lid is threaded and
