I am guessing 1930s or early 40s

is made of alder wood and signed with a mark and "8J7

a truly lovely object

and the off-center pattern of what I assume are water lilies turns the whole thing into a waterscape

There are a fair number of Mexican frog pitchers out there, but this is my favorite, looking a bit startled, more than a little goofy, and definitely very sweet. I think he would be great holding a bunch of flowers or a few branches of fall leaves or winter berries. Approx. 7" tall and 6" at widest. Great condition;
