It reminds me of Wizards of the Coasts older Commander precons, which were often more like two or three half-decks in a trenchcoat (the idea being that players would play a few games, get a feel for which mechanics they liked and then start swapping in cards to emphasize that part of the deck)

Lands commanders can also give you a new way of looking at lands, seeing them as resources beyond the mana they produce
Additionally, with I Trust You, you can look at the top two cards in your deck when she quests
This is a little overcosted, but being a 4-mana noncreature spell and an Equipment has serious value in this set
