10 years ago December 8th It looks like Odyssy would have been fun to draft, with Magic's first real graveyard-matters cards (e.g., Crashing Centaur, Werebear, Overeager Apprentice, and Crypt Creeper), some interesting Instants (e.g., Shelter, Afflict, Rites of Refusal, and Muscle Burst), and some curious manafixing (Bog Wreckage)
Let's take a big-picture look at the white-blue and blue-red archetypes
At the outset, I'm seeing Miara as a way to get to where I want to go, and I'm seeing Nadier as the card that will hopefully give me enough of a payoff that I can threaten to win the game on the back of that last ability
Because this is Magic and nothing is ever easy so of course there is an exception
And it doesnt just sit there: it comes in with haste, swings immediately, and two turns later, you can cast it for real and do it all again
